Termites
Eastern subterranean termites are the termite of the Kansas City area. They live in the soil, reach wood through mud tubes, and swarm on warm spring days — often the only sign a homeowner sees.
An inspection tells you whether activity is current, and whether wood-to-soil contact or moisture is setting the house up for it.

Subterranean Termite
The termite species responsible for essentially all structural termite damage in the Kansas City area. Colonies live in the soil and build mud tubes to reach wood, working silently for years before damage is visible.
