Cockroach Control — Common Questions

How can I tell if it's German roaches or something else?+

German roaches are small — about a half-inch — tan to light brown, with two dark stripes just behind the head, and they stay near water and heat: kitchens, bathrooms, behind appliances. Larger, darker roaches (American or Oriental) usually wander in from outside through drains or the basement. An inspection tells you which one you're dealing with, since the treatment approach differs.

Why do roaches keep coming back after I spray?+

Store-bought sprays and foggers only kill what they directly touch, and they can scatter roaches deeper into wall voids instead of eliminating them. German roach egg cases are also resistant to a lot of over-the-counter products, so new roaches keep hatching after the visible ones are gone. Real control means targeted placement that breaks the whole life cycle, not just knocking down what you can see.

Are cockroaches actually a health risk, or just gross?+

Real risk, not just appearance. Shed skin and droppings are a known asthma and allergy trigger, especially for kids, and roaches can track bacteria across countertops and food-prep surfaces. It's worth treating as a health issue, not a housekeeping one.

How many visits does a roach cleanout take?+

One initial cleanout visit starts the process, but German roach infestations usually need a follow-up within two to three weeks to catch anything that hatched after the first treatment. Heavier infestations, especially in apartments or older kitchens, can take two to three visits before it's fully broken.

Will you need to get into my cabinets and behind appliances?+

Yes — that's usually where the real infestation lives, not on the counter where you see them. Harborage behind the refrigerator, under the sink, and inside cabinet voids needs direct treatment for a cleanout to actually work.

How much does cockroach treatment cost?+

Roach treatment is part of our general pest service, and it is quoted for your property after a free inspection rather than off a price list. For homes or apartments with ongoing pressure, the quarterly plan with free call-backs between visits is the most common way to keep them from coming back. Call or text for a firm number.
