Kansas City Pest Control
Attic Kansas City Pest Control
Attics see three kinds of activity: rodents (mostly mice, climbing in through roofline and soffit gaps), wasps and hornets nesting behind gable vents, and — the one worth taking seriously — carpenter ants or termite swarmers pointing to a roof leak. Insulation matted down in trails, chewed wiring, and a scratching sound at night are the usual first signs.
Attic entry points are almost always up high and easy to miss from the ground: gaps where the roofline meets the soffit, torn ridge vent screening, a chewed gap around a bath fan exhaust, or a gable vent with a broken louver. Mice are surprisingly good climbers and will use a tree branch touching the roof as a bridge in.
We inspect the attic itself, not just the yard — trace droppings and gnaw marks back to the actual entry point, seal it with rodent-proof material (not just spray foam, which gets chewed through), and treat any wasp or hornet activity found in the vents. If insulation has been heavily soiled, we'll tell you honestly whether it needs to be replaced.
